International students in the Degree Completion program at PBU are a part of a community of learners that progress together through their studies in a cohort group. In your academic studies, your involvement with your cohort group, and your engagement with local and global communities, you will develop a worldview that is centered on Christ and His word and reaches out to impact the lives of those around you – wherever you are.
To begin that journey you have to start with the first step.
Application Process
International students applying to PBU’s Degree Completion program must meet the standard application requirements of the University and any program-specific requirements.
Deadlines
In order to allow time for the processing of necessary paperwork, application deadlines for international students are as follows:
May 31st for students entering in the
fall semester (August)
Sept. 30th for students entering in the
spring semester (January)
As you begin the application process, please keep in mind the following information:
- International applicants to the Degree Completion program will have their application materials and academic qualifications evaluated.
- You will be advised regarding required academic credentials.
- Decisions on academic acceptance or denial are made by the Director of the Degree Completion program.
- International applicants must have successfully completed at least 60 credits of university-level study, the equivalent of an associate’s degree in the United States.
- Because colleges and universities outside the United States often have unique coursework and requirements, your transcripts and academic experience will be evaluated by a PBU Admissions Professional.
- As an international applicant, you will be evaluated both academically as well as financially in order that we may determine whether sufficient resources of financial support exist to cover estimated expenses.
- Once your financial support has been proven sufficient, you will be eligible to receive a Form I-20. The Form I-20 is required for you to apply for an F-1 visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate, allowing you to enter the US with F-1 student status.
- International applicants holding, or intending to hold, US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) status other than F-1 may be admitted to PBU without a financial evaluation.
- F-1 Student Visa applicants must complete the application for Form I-20
.
International applicants seeking F-1 Visa status must go through the process of visa application with the International Office.
