Undergraduate Students

International Admissions

Undergraduate international students at PBU are a part of a community of learners from around the world.  In your academic studies, your involvement in campus life, and your engagement with local and global communities, you will develop a worldview that is centered on Christ and His word and reaches out to impact the lives of those around you – wherever you are.

To begin that journey you have to start with the first step.

Application Process

International students applying to any of PBU’s undergraduate programs must meet the application requirements of the University and any program-specific requirements.

Deadlines

May 31 for students entering in the
fall semester (August)
September 30  for students entering in the
spring semester (January)

Transcripts
  • Transcripts must be in English or accompanied by an English translation
  • PBU requires official secondary school transcripts (a minimum of 12 years of primary and secondary school training comprises the equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma)
  • Students with 30 or more college credits are only required to submit transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Students may be required to have their non U.S. academic transcripts evaluated by an academic transcript evaluating agency. PBU prefers that transcripts be evaluated by the World Education Services (WES) to determine their U.S. equivalence. Once international applicants have submitted their official transcripts, they will be notified whether a WES evaluation will be required.

TOEFL
Applicants for whom English is not their native language are required to demonstrate proficiency by taking the TOEFL exam administered by the Education Testing Service (ETS).

Undergraduate TOEFL Requirements
  • Official test scores of at least 520 on the paper-based test, 190 on the computer-based test, or 68 on the internet-based test must be submitted.
  • All scores must be submitted directly from ETS and may not be more than two years old. The PBU TOEFL school code is 2661.

Undergraduate TOEFL Waiver Eligibility

  • Students who meet the minimum SAT or ACT requirement are not required to take the TOEFL test
  • Applicants who have completed alternative English proficiency exams with comparable passing scores (subject to Admissions approval)
  • Applicants who have successfully pursued post-secondary studies in the United States and some Commonwealth countries within two years of submitting an application to PBU may be granted a TOEFL test waiver. PBU requires a minimum of 60 completed university credits (each course with a minimum of grade of "C") in order for a waiver to be granted. A test waiver is effective only when confirmed by PBU.
