Chancellor Sherrill Babb and his wife Nayla have joined the Chamber Singers in Japan. The trip has served to be enlightening and humbling as they experience the people, places, and food, but also witness the devastation left by the recent tsunami.
The PBU Chamber Singers performed a concert with school children at a school building that is surrounded by devastation. The ministry of the Chamber Singers has been fantastic. The group has been lifting people's spirits and encouraging believers in Christ. They also visited two churches in the Tokyo area before coming to the Sendai area. Next, the group is preparing and serving meals for those who are needy. When they return to Tokyo, the ministry with artist, Makoto Fujimura begins. The group is excited to have Makoto Fujimura with them and is excited to see what the rest of the trip will bring.
Members of PBU's Chamber Singers are traveling in Japan until December 24. The group will accompany artist and friend of the University Makoto Fujimura as he exhibits his "Four Holy Gospels" at Takashimaya, the premiere department store in Tokoyo.
Please continue to pray for the singers as they travel and perform, sharing beauty and hope in a country where many are hurting.
