There are many choices facing today's college students. We believe you should learn all you can about the schools you are considering because making the best choice for you is important.
PBU is an academic community, like any university. But we are more than that. The faculty, staff, and students here are deeply committed to Christ, the mission of the school, and one another. It is our privilege to lead PBU and to know the students who study here personally. We have worked together for nearly 16 years, both joining the faculty at about the same time. We’ve spent countless hours talking about
our work of teaching and the vision for a biblical university. Today, we serve as President and Provost at PBU because we believe this is important work and that something special happens here.
We’ve seen our students change as they learn and grow and become mature in every aspect of their lives. We’ve taught in the classrooms here and know that what we teach and how we teach challenges students. We’ve kept in touch with students who have graduated and gone on to do significant and exciting work. The mission of PBU speaks for itself. Read it carefully. It’s what we’re all about.
We talk with students often about these words. We know that they understand the mission and that their lives have all been impacted by it.
Every college or university education is centered on something: a philosophy, a worldview, a set of core beliefs. Choosing a school that has the right things at the center will make all the difference.
From the curriculum to student ministries and campus activities like the arts and athletics, Christ and the Word hold us together. At PBU, biblical integration and the cultivation of wisdom are not hard to find.
At first glance PBU’s academic offerings may appear limited. But if you look closely
to form the skills, habits, and worldview necessary to live out your faith and succeed at your work. Every student earns a degree in Bible and many students earn another degree in a variety of fields such as a:
Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration
Bachelor of Science in Education
Bachelor of Music or
Bachelor of Social Work.
Students may focus their electives in a particular concentration, or add a professional minor to their programs. They can also enroll in dual-level degree programs earning an undergraduate and graduate degree together. You will be challenged.
In the School of Music and Performing Arts, students benefit from a classically based, academically demanding, and artistically sound study of music. Students are involved in ensembles and musical performances which complement their classroom study. As a result, they become music professionals in composition, performance, education, or the church. Faculty in the School of Music and Performing Arts are not only outstanding performers, composers, church musicians, and educators, but also mentors dedicated to their students’ development as scholars and musicians.

Because of the way we do what we do, our students stand out. And they are sought out.
You will be made ready for your life and work in the church, society, and the world. You will be strengthened in your faith, and encouraged to keep seeking truth and serving God. If our students earned degrees and simply went out to work with no view of God’s purposes and no sense of the importance of their life lived well, we would be wasting our time. Being a Christian is more than that.
We want our students to be inspired to live an intentional life of obedient service to Christ. We teach all subjects in view of the Bible’s teaching. Our professors care about and know their students. They are examples to them and invest in them and guide them. And that is inspiring.
